A pleasant place to connect with nature. The historic buildings area was kinda cool too.

We enjoy using the buildings here. We have all our family parties here. We have been renting them for the past 5 years. They have reasonable rates, clean buildings, and the employees are very friendly and helpful. My Son and Daughter in Law was Married here. Awesome Place.

I’ve hiked the Lake Mingo Trail a few times now and I’ve enjoyed it every time. It is pretty long (7 miles) and a bit challenging at times. There can be a lot of really muddy/wet spots. The last mile or so of the trail is pretty weird as it circled back to the start but still one of my favorite hikes in central IL. There isn’t really anything else of interest in the park.

An open-air museum is very cool if you want to experience the real America! I felt like I traveled to the past! Thanks to the ladies who run the historical buildings I’ve learned a lot about the life people had in the past.

Questions & Answers

Why aren't there any Cell Phone Towers at the park. I bring my dogs there and I want to walk the trails but I get no reception anywhere. The same

I have no idea why there isnt any cell towers. I lose reception when I'm there to. Maybe it's an Illinois thing. It creates a safety problem if you can't call for help. People need to sign a petition and give it to the mayor or governor.

When is the civil war reenactment?
