They really do not do a good job with follow up. I've requested things to be done for a resident and they say things like we will have someone do it. Doesn't get done. They sign the residents up for a horrible pharmacy partner. I just feel like i have to call and call again every month to repeat my request.

Both my mom and dad were residents of Assumption Village, my mom from July of 2013 - January 2015, and my dad from July 2013 - March of 2017. Since my family and I live close to the facility we were luckily able to pop in and out at a moment's notice and closely observe the day to day operations. My parents were taken care of in a kind and caring fashion throughout their stay, from the administrators to the cafeteria staff to the nurse and caregivers to the maintenance staff, everyone was like a family and paid great respect to Mom and Dad. I could feel overwhelmed as their only surviving child with the paperwork, medical appointments and routine needs they had, but once I stepped into the door, I felt immediately better as the staff always smiled and said "Hello". I slept better at night knowing they were warm, well fed, and living in a clean apartment. As with any facility or institution, there are days when things are perhaps forgotten or needed and there can be slip-ups, but as a teacher for 30 years I know how difficult helping people can sometimes be, so please remember that in any facility there will be changes or times when you do not seem to understand a policy right away. I still cannot believe how lucky we were to have found such a place for such a reasonable fee, and how dear the people working there became to my family and I.
