My grandfather moved out about a year ago due to severe bed bugs. Some of his friends from there still call him & have reported still a very bad bed big issue. The male who runs it seems rude & lied about there being an issue. I called a local bed bug expert for help who said “oh yeah we’ve been out there many of times.” We have never ever had to deal with this issue until he lived there & it has cost us thousands of dollars & most of my grandfathers things having to be thrown out.

We went to visit a friend here, and were pleasantly surprised. Our friend was happy with the facilities and wanted us to take a look at it, and arranged for a meeting with the salesperson, Kathy. It is income based, with two service options for consideration. There is the LEP (Life Enhancement Program), which is all services included (meals, activities, tours, transportation for errands and appointments and shopping, concierge services, etc). The other option is the living space only, with full building access (activity rooms, meals with purchase of meal tickets, laundry facilities, full kitchens in the units, utilities included (water, sewer, garbage, electric? (don't recall specifically), but no cable (you must contract individually with the cable provider). Missing was an option to buy into the LEP services on a package, but limited basis, although I suspect that it would be an accounting nightmare to do so. The place has a good vibe, owing, perhaps, to the fact that it sits on the footprint of the old Shriners Hospital, a longtime landmark in NE Portland, and it is adjacent to the Grotto, a spiritual retreat space. There was a surprising lack of noise, given its location at NE 82nd and Sandy Blvd (both busy thoroughfares), and less than two miles from the Portland International Airport, and about a mile from I-205.

My mom has been at The Heights for the past 9 months. She loves her affordable roomy 2 bedroom apartment. Staff have been very kind, caring and supportive of an 84 year old set in her ways. I truly appreciate the staff, the activities that keep my mom entertained and engaged. The extra security at The Heights gives me peace of mind knowing my mom is safe. Thank you!

I believe you do not need to be retired to live there, but there may be a minimum age requirement.
Kathryn Hardin, this is a public forum to get reviews on the facilities, not amenities. Please check with the management team for the answer. Some apartments had small balconies, but I'm not sure if they were private or not.
I say 14 yrs. We have a client that been here for 13 yrs
Whomever you're visiting can offer you their WiFi. If they have internet
Nice clean place, people friendly, my mom lives there and she loves it. She said it under new management and they are nice and friendly
