Easy in and out, helpful staff. Modern medical facility feel. Great cafeteria with some unique offerings.
Aloysius Murphy & The Ubiquitous Experience
This VA hospital is horrendous. Treated like a criminal from square one. Not like I served my country in a war and wound up messed up from it or anything. The doctors are kids with no experience yet act like their word has more weight than your own in regards to your own body. They cancelled more than half my appointments and when I cried out for help, and that I am feeling suicidal, literally not one person did anything about it. No phone call from doctors. No phone calls from PTSD clinic. Nothing. That is a horrible way to treat your patients.

I am aware that the VA doesn’t have competition and a lot of Vets lash out. There are a lot of Vets suffering. I know because I was one. And, they are not perfect. They also seem to be a punching bag for how are lives have become unreasonable. I was in the deepest depths. A year and a half ago I had little reason to live. And, Hep C and degenerative end stage hip. I also lost everything to drugs and depression. The VA cured me of Hep C, they are addressing my hip, my addiction is arrested. The VA is now helping me through Vocational Rehab to become a PTSD/Drug Alcohol Counselor. It’s a waste of time to lash out. Ask questions and stay on top of it. If they don’t get back keep calling. Get a VSO and self advocate. They saved and are saving my life.

Seems like nothing has changed, still sitting in the ER for over 3 hours after being checked in. The van is slow over crowded and even slower getting back to a person who is there to get help. This is not at all a quality health care. Felt this way back in 2011 and still do in 2019.

I don't have a car. Is there VA transport from Beaverton?
There is a map...you can Google Portland VA Medical Center and they have maps for whatever you need Also you can go to the information counter and ask Hank any question...he's a great resource
