It had some ice an mud, some wet spots. Still enjoyed it like I always do. It took about 45 min. To do the part I like. Most times I will do it 2 times.

First time on these trails. We loved hiking them. Easily marked. The river is beautiful

Easy walking trail. Great for dog walks. Well maintained, a couple hills. I'd say depending on what trail you take, its <mile round trip.

This is a really quiet area, with great views, and multiple trails to explore. There is not usually a port a potty in this portion of the park, but the trails are well worn, making it perfect for families, and less experienced outdoors persons. Great place for a hike, walking dogs, fishing, and kayaking some times of the year. Each February they have a kayak race that can be a lot of fun to watch, but is often too shallow most of the rest of the year. The fishing is also very seasonal through most of the area, but there are fish if you look. The park doesn’t close for the winter, but does offer some forms of hunting and trapping, so make sure to put bells on collars of your pets for piece of mind. Also ticks can be bad, so make sure to check all kids and pets after your visit. Overall this is a great section of the Scantic River Linear Park, with trails to make your way through a good part of the park, but still offers a lot of uncharted area for wanderers. Make sure to bring bug spray as there is plenty of sitting water for mosquito larvae. Ticks too can be prevented with most insect repellents, but always happy to return.

Well, I'd say the trails are meant for hiking. But during hunting season hunters are permitted to hunt there. There are lots of trails that branch out along the river. There is lots of beautiful wildlife and many good fishing spots.
