It's a little out of the way for me but worth it. I wish it was common sense for some people to pick up after themselves. When my son and I go we always pack up trash that inconsiderate folks leave behind. If we can't simply pick up after ourselves we will definitely lose places like this to shoot at.

The best shooting experience outside in Western Oregon. There's other places sure, but this place is designated for shooting and farily clean. Maps will get there easily. You can also go around and find other spots. Best place hands down for shooting.

I went in early December. The drive up there from Portland was nice. Where they have the new lanes the hill is pretty steep and I wasn't able to get my small sedan up there. But, I kept to the left and followed the gravel farther up. They have a ton of areas to shoot. Please pick up after yourselves. We want to keep our forest clean so we can continue coming back.

Great place to get some practice in. There are only 4 lanes, so getting there early is necessary. I highly recommend bringing a target stand. Please dont shoot bottles, nobody likes having to step on glass to get to their targets.

Yes you can, no charge. But please pleeeease pick up any targets and don't leave trash. Great place to shoot.
It's legal to shoot on state forest land. If you get there and it's full, keep going up the main road and you can find other places safe to shoot. Just clean up and make sure there's a good backstop.
There are a few places where you can shoot 100 yards+. Depending on numbers of people there you can even get out to between 600 and 1000 yards, but having a good backstop becomes a safety issue. I've found it helpful to set up temporary warning signs to keep people from wandering onto the old logging deck where I have targets set up.
No. There aren't places to set up camp. It's not so much a range, as it is a series of dirt lanes along a road.
It say on the sign no exploding targets. I believe it's closed now do to fire danger.
Just the first 10-20 yards when you first start going up the main entrance up the hill I'd say is kinda of rough for any car. If you baby your car watch out unless you are really careful you might bottom out or it might get scratched up. I've also seen cars up there as Jack stated. Any decent SUV or truck will have no issues. Have fun it's a nice clean public range!!🙂🔫🎯👍🏼
