Did the 45 minutes tour and it’s pretty fun. Lots of interesting facts and cool experiences tour around the submarine

Really enjoyed this tour. I guess thanks to restrictions the tour group is small, only four in our group. The guide was very knowledgeable, and be sure to ask lots of questions to get a lot more detail. Hard to believe how they worked and lived on this sub. Quite fascinating walking from room to room. Well worth the visit.

Wonderful experience. The sub is in fantastic shape, and our tour guide (Steve) was fun and informative. He also did a great job with the numerous children who were there. Standard tour is about 45 minutes. I would love to go back for the 3-hour Technical Tour, which takes place on the 2nd and 4th Sunday every month.

The ship itself is not wheelchair accessible. I think it would be tough to get around with a walker. Since the Navy still owns the ship, the only way that access has been improved is two large stairs added to get on and off the boat. All other p-ways and and stairwells are original to the ship so they're not very wide. Additionally, to get to/from the torpedo room and the engine room, there are water tight hatches which are not very large. There is a mockup of the water tight hatches in the OMSI building proper so potential guests can make sure they can pass through it before buying their tickets and making it all the way down to the boat. That being said, if a guest couldn't make it through those hatches, they might skip those two rooms but take the rest of the tour. I'm just not sure all the p-ways are going to be wide enough to permit a walker so a cane would be better if they can get around with one. In OMSI lot. You have to go into OMSI main entrance and check in before you go down to the submarine
Yes, you buy tickets to the submarine tour in OMSI at the ticket counter.

It was commissioned in 1959 and decommisioned in 1990. Been at OMSI since 1994.
