They do not care bout their residents. My refrigerator and stove was out for 6 weeks. I couldn't cook, nor could I keep anything cold. My freezer would defrost the food then refreeze it. I lost over $1000 on food. Then they wanted me to pay the full rent. So I took them half and explained why. They denied it. Wouldn't recommend them

I had an excellent experience in 2018 with Walnut Grove Apartments!! Because of the big hearted Manager Who gave Me a chance, I got out of homelessness in only 3 months!! I don't recommend the property anymore, though, the owner got rid of the little amounts of shrubbery/trees left, renovated, & made the apartments more expensive!!!

I've enjoyed my time over the last year living at one of Fortress's properties, called Stark Street Station. It's a nice little neighborhood complex with wonderful landscaping. The neighbors have been welcoming and kind. When I've had an issue, maintenance or otherwise, I have always felt comfortable emailing the team at Fortress to let them know what's up. I've always received a response, attention to the issue I've mentioned and a follow up to ensure it was completed and that I was happy with the resolution. I live a fairly quiet life and am glad that when I've had an issue, I've felt heard and validated. There is always room for improvement, and I would say that the Fortress team never stops trying to be better and do better. Even when you offer your criticism, they've always been receptive and professional.

UPDATE: After months of ignoring me, three separate people from the company contacted me about this a few days after I posted this review… interesting! I was finally able to get my utility account closed after another month of emails and calls. They said they had “no idea” the account had been left open despite my multiple messages. However, I see some reviews talking about how helpful Henry is — don’t be fooled! Henry has been sending me gibberish emails since August refusing to refund $50 of double billed utilities even though I have proof that the bill this $50 was for had already been paid. He has even tried lying to me about the dates like they’re not right there at the top of the bill. Don’t let Henry steal your money! Live somewhere else. ————————————— The company manages the water/sewer utility accounts themselves, so I was told that they would remove my name from the account when I moved three months ago. I am still getting billed, and every time I try to contact the company they stop responding as soon as I explain the problem. They now owe me $175 with no end in sight. I think this is possibly part of a larger problem with staff turnover -- Fortress treats their employees terribly, so people quit often & the new staff has no idea what's going on. When I was a tenant this caused all kinds of problems with maintenance, paperwork, etc.

You can call the Fortress property office directly for more help. You can also get a nine volt battery and change it yourself, I always do with mine. Your local fire department will also provide free batteries and change it for you. Hope that helps.

Probley a stupid question but can I mail my rent?

Jake Lang | Aug 18, 2019

Hi Jake Of course you can mail in your rent. Your envelope just needs to be postmarked by the 4th to avoid any late fees. You can also pay your rent on line if you would like for your convenience. Are you set up for this option? Our office would just need to e-mail you a link to use this option.

Why is there cameras in signs all over the parking lot and I keep getting gas siphoned out of my truck in my assigned parking spot

I would contact the manager and let her know the date and approximate time frame so she can look at the footage. Did you file a police report?

How do I pay rent? Is there an online page?

If you are interested in paying online, you can call the front desk and they can help set up your account, so you can pay online. Otherwise rent can be mailed into or dropped off at the main office.
