Look to the current laws. In any store, such as Walmart, Target, Fred Meyer, the most any employee can do is ask if it is a service animal. There is no credentialing process and no existing verification. Most stores post a sign stating that only service animals are allowed but there is no way to verify.
Emotional support animals are allowed in many places per Oregon and Federal law. Stores can only do so much when inquiring about an individual’s animal.
They call them comfort pets
