It's 2 miles long and almost all uphill, steep in places but with stairs and well-maintained switchbacks. We made the hike with toddlers (the youngest was 4) and only had to carry them maybe 20% of the way.
I'd say it's a stretch for a five year old, depending on the kid. It's about four miles, round trip, and the two miles heading in gain 1350 feet.
When I was 5 I could totally do that hike. But I grew up hiking. And I'm pretty sure the hike is less than two miles. The only hard part is at the very end when you start climbing into the canyon. It is steep, but not incredibly long. If you have an energetic climber it should be no problem.
I did it with my five year old
Definitely would be hard for the 5 year old, and I don't think she would be able to do it without assistance. My 13 year old sister struggled. You might have to carry her part of the way
It's pretty long but fairly easy. We have friends that have taken their kids to do it and they were able to. There are plenty of spots to take a break and snack.
