We spend about 60-90 minutes actually looking for apples to pick, and about 20-45 minutes waiting for fresh hot donuts. If we go on the hayride, that can be 30-60 additional minutes, depending on the wait.
Some people spend a couple of hours because they have a petting zoo and a play area for children and they pick apples get in line for doughnuts. Some spend half a day. It is totally up to u.
The orchards rolling hills can be pretty intense and lugging around 5 lbs of apples can take time. Picking takes about an hour or so, unloading apples and paying 30 minutes, petting zoo 30 minutes, play ground 30 minutes, hot donuts and dogs 30 minutes. So, I would say about 3 hours on a slow day.
About three to four hours
At the least, you need to alot 2 hours. I would spend 5 and bring a lunch and money for the amazing doughnuts they have in the fall.
