Download your maps before going. GPS does not need service. It pings satellites. If you have the maps stored (Google maps allows this) then if you are out of service or run out of data (which I have) you'll still be able to find you way there and back.
Can confirm, I have Verizon and almost nowhere in the area I had service. Also a buddy of mine with Springt had the same issue. Try pre-downloading them or ye olde trust mapquest!
No, there is no cell service from T-Mobile or other carriers. You should write down the directions beforehand or download that portion of Google Maps.
I believe there is no service around that area,but if you have the gps set from home you should lost the gps route.
