Can I see the northern lights from your location?

I was told the Northern Lights can only be seen during the winter season due the rotation of the Earth. If you look thru the Guest Photos from the Lodge someone took a picture of the Northern Lights back in 2009.

If you are lucky. I was on @ cruise before going to Fairbanks, someone saw northern light on the crusie one night, but i couldn't see it afterward even in Fairbanks.
