We did not see them
They used to years ago, but they don’t now. The reason for this is twofold- white tigers don’t actually help conservation (they are not Siberian tigers, which is a common misconception, but a genetic mutation of the bengal tiger, and this genetic mutation has been bred for to produce the “snow white” and “golden tabby” variations). So basically, it’s more important to preserve bengal tigers, and as long as bengal tigers carrying the gene for the white variation survive, so will white tigers. The more important reason that the Washington National Zoo doesn’t breed for white tigers anymore is because of the tiny gene pool. All white tigers are descended from a single individual caught in the wild. Historically, the white tiger has been bred for, which meant cross breeding closely related individuals. This led to the shallow gene pool which causes many, if not all, of the white tigers to have genetic defects such as crossed eyes, cleft palate, and kidney problems to name a few.
