Excellent hike along the river , you can walk over the small hill to the upper camp sites, the state park is very close as well as other trails in the area. Great base camp to visit waterfalls and trails between Clayton and Tocca.
We didn't see any trails at CG, but it was a nice walk along the river between areas. CG is very close to Tallulah Falls State Park with very nice trails of various difficulty. ENJOY!
This is in direct response to C Twilley.... You ma'am, are a very unhappy woman. Friends stayed next to your site, and another friend waited til well after check out for your husband to vacate the site. Your husband cursed all the neighbors out, even throwing the F bomb numerous times! IN FRONT OF SMALL CHILDREN!! During your rant, you left out about canceling your original stay and rebooked. Knowing full well, the week of July 4th it'd be slim to get a site. My friend who is on the exact same lot, with a bigger travel trailer. You griped about mud. Guess what??? Your on a river, it rains, the ground gets muddy! Before setting up, my friend asked the office about gravel. In 5 minutes a skid steer was putting down gravel. Reading your review, its plain to see, Jesus Christ himself could not make you happy. You also failed to mention the arguments and cussing every night between you and your husband! As fot hiking..... Its not trails per se, but the river road makes a huge circle.
No, this campground has NOTHING unless you count "hiking" to the upper parking lot to get your car. The state park is less than a mile down the street.
