If your new/source water has chlorine you need to use a dechlorinator. We use and sell Ultimate Water conditioner which is an ammonia binder as well as a dechlorinator. You use the same dose for ammonia binding as you do for neutralizing chlorine. PLEASE NOTE. Yes. Depends on how strong the blocker is and how much chlorine you already have in your eater. If you have well water, you don't need a blocker
