Agreed with the first reply, loony hunters shooting at anything that moves starting in the fall and depending on the loon, not uncommon for "practice" hunting to start in the late summer
I would not reccomend camping during the cold months as it is hunting season and mountain is flooded with hunters... I grew up in that mountain and never once saw a tent there during the winter... Its always campers and that is hunters DURING Thanksgiving week but I have not even seen that in years as it gets blistering cold up there during tje winter...
We camped there in the snow so yes you can, but definitely come prepared. Most people I saw there at that time had RVs or very sturdy tents with stoves to heat them.
Its tent and rv camping. No running water or cabins. Most people don't visit in the cold
