First go to Homeless Point of Entry at 511 West Grace St in Richmond. Hilliard House is a family shelter though. So you must have a least one kid or be pregnant. Also if it is a dangerous domestic situation theres good chance you won't be able to go to Hillard House as their main focus is Rapid Rehousing. They really aren't equipped to handle a serious domestic situation

Safe harbour, local legal aid & dept. Of social services can also help. But yes, you will need to contact common Catholic charities (Homless point of entry= CCC). Do not just show up as they may not be able to accommodate you, without prior notice😇. Stay blessed & humble!
