If you're lucky enough to find deep enough water to go swimming the current gets so strong it might sweep you away. And yes there are tons of creepy crawlies along with stingrays.
I love that park! That being said, the water is not normally clear. I usually fish and just enjoy walking in the surf here.I have seen a black bear and an alligator on the beach in the park.
The water acts like bay water. Slower waves make it easier to swim but water is low visibility. This beach is best for tanning and fishing. Lots of crabs due to seagrass so some small sharks can be in the area. Usually 2 to 3 foot. Best area to swim in the forgotten coast is St. George Island, Carrabelle Beach and then Mexico beach near Panama City. All off Rt 98.
There are also plenty of oyster bars but people swim there often and I have never heard anything about it And I do not drive there I go by boat so I see it from the water not from the beach
The water was a brownish color, and yes there were a lot of crabs. But it's beautiful and not alot of people their.
