Good of you to voice your complaint. Additionally, you should do so in written form, e.g. through a signed letter in the book of complaints and a formal letter.
If many people are voicing the same complaint about the same post office perhaps there is a problem that needs to be addressed.
I don't work for the post office so I can not answer your question. I can give my opinion. While it may appear that they don't care, you can not judge the entire post office system based on your poor experience. I've come across some terrible post office employees as well as very helpful ones as well. I've also seen some customers occupy time of post office employees for say 30 minutes to 45 minutes to make a $5 purchase. If you think of it as a business, how much do you think post office loses. Some customers ask for help to make a package and then complain that it is not free to ship or whatever company they bought the product they are returning does it for free. Trust me, no such thing as free. People are not slaves and someone somewhere is being taken advantage of. I've come across post office employees who have different rules bases on different days and sure some of them contribute to a toxic environment. Some postal workers are also the exact opposite.
