Know that copperheads have been known to provide the kindness of a 'dry' courtesy bite on occasion. There is a sign that says something like no swimming or wading. You're on your own if you choose to ignore it.
I have seen no reports of snake activity. The pond is a primitive area though and snakes, especially water moccasins, are always an issue there.
