Currently nothing required. The rules changed several years ago. You used to have to pay.
No permit nor pass is required. Free parking at the trailhead. There is an overflow parking a short walk from the trailhead if needed.
There were none that I can recall when I was there last January. It seemed to be first come first serve public parking.
