Is there a way to get here without going through the "private" road? That always confuses me.

The Aquarium is sarounded by Washington Ave., Bagby & Memorial Drive. The Buffalo Bayou is between The Aquarium and Wortham Theater Center. There is underground parking under the Wortham. I believe there is parking behind The Aquarium also. To enter their parking area you need to enter from Washington Ave.

Yes and if you go down two blocks from the entrance there's a massive underground parking lot!

There really are no "private roads" leading to the Aquarium. Bagby St is not private, nor are any of the roads leading to it... Unless perhaps it is referring to the driveway/parking lot..?
