If I book a free room with my rewards points, will they charge me a deposit fee or can they waive it? If a deposit fee is charged, how much will it be && does it matter wether it's cash or card?

Every time I stay at a Wyndham motel on points, they need a card "on file" in case someone punches a hole in the wall 🤜🙄 but as far as I know, it's never had an actual charge applied and then reversed. On the other hand, I'm a Diamond level member, so things may be different, and individual properties can probably set their own rules.

Yes deposit fee

I stayed on Christmas with my points and they stopped taking deposits. I did stay in September with points and they took $100 deposit. I used my Wal-Mart prepaid card, it does have my name on it
