Haven't needed to buy salt. Purchased unit Sept. 2015. Uses minimal salt. Very efficient softener. Have a 4.5 year supply remaining. Excellent sevice employees. Note: by reading the guide book you can also order and install necessary filter cartridges yourself.
Never had delivery but salt is 7 dollars a bag.
Service call is $75 and I think salt is charged at $8-9 per bag. Only had them here twice and I bought my salt at walmart . Very courteous employees
