Because your either a new home owner or you signed up to win a 4 wheeler or waher and dryer somewhere. They're trying to sell you a water softening system.
The refiner removes chlorine from your water and sometimes that can cause bacteria in your toilet bowl. We recommend clorex tabs or something similar in your toilet bowl or tank. This should help!
Haven't needed to buy salt. Purchased unit Sept. 2015. Uses minimal salt. Very efficient softener. Have a 4.5 year supply remaining. Excellent sevice employees. Note: by reading the guide book you can also order and install necessary filter cartridges yourself.
