Is there a grassy picnic area just before the beach area where I can leave foods with other family members while I went for a swim to cool off? And if there is a grassy picnic area does it have grills?

Yes. The park is more park than beach. The beach area is actually quite small. You will have a bit of a walk though. And on weekends, holidays and hot days it fills up quickly and early. Usually before noon.

Yes. A few grills thru out the park.
