To be honest with you. I would go in and look. Jennifer Heider apparently hasn't been in awhile. I would actually look at all the Shelters and even some of the ones online. I would make sure that they are well informed of the animals medical needs (records).
In South Bend in Mishawaka, unfortunately 98% of all of our shelters are overstocked with pit bulls that are unwanted because people don't know how to get their dog spayed or neutered. You might be lucky to find a German Shepherd or a Jack Russell Terrier in any of Indiana's animal shelters but for the most part unfortunately South Bend, Mishawaka, and Elkhart are overrun with pitbulls
