My drivers license in Calif. is up on my birthday, Nov 4th 2020. I have been in Utah mostly for the past 2 years...travel back and forth between kids. I need to set up appointment but wonder if the third party is better for me because of my age?

Check the Utah drivers license website for requirement and needed documents prior to going in to save time and effort. You can make appointments there when ready.

Not sure what you mean by third party, but they require you to go into the drivers license office with Utah mail with your name on it
