My dad and son are racing tomorrow 8-31, but we didn't get the email with the racing schedule. Mainly we just need to know what time the registration is in the morning. We're coming from Denver and don't want to miss the registration time bracket. If anyone could help out that would be fantastic!
There are several "tracks" held in this portion of Ewing Park. The following information is for the Soap Box Derby Track. Races are held periodically through out the year. It's best to visit our website for upcoming events - www.dmsoapbox.com. We currently don't have one corporate sponsor. We do have several businesses that donate funding and services though out the year. We have a partial list of those sponsors on our website and we are working to update the site to have a complete list. We have two different type of races - Rally and Local. The Rally races are held at our track in Ewing Park. The Local race is held annually in June on a Norwalk city street.
It's just a community track. The weekends have different groups using it (not all). The track is free to use 99.9% of the year, so you'll most likely have it to yourself. The "races" are usually all kid age groups. Last weekend had 2-4 year olds on the BMX portion of the track. I'd check the city of Des Moines Parks and Rec page for a scheduling list.
