Like everyone else is saying, the plant is closed until 2019, I'm guessing to help keep the C7 under wraps. There's not much in Bowling Green, but its only an hour from Nashville, and you'll probably drive past the Bourbon Trail on your way down where you can tour some distilleries if you're into that. Plus, like someone mentioned, you're in cave country (hence the sinkhole tragedy a few years back) so there's Mammoth Cave and several others to choose from. It's worth the trip! I made the drive from Omaha, NE (about 12 hours) in my '98 Corvette.
We have the lost river cave, train museum, during the summer we have beech bend amusement and water park, as well as a few other fun little things here. Also, only 20 or so miles from BG KY we have mammoth cave, nolin lake beach, and a select few other things you might enjoy. I feel if you've never been here, it's a wonderful place to visit for a RELAXED, EDUCATIONAL, and FUN vacation. ☺
Mammoth Caves is a nice place to hangout at for a few days. Beautiful area and the cave tours are interesting.
The factory will be closed till late 2018. But Music City Nashville is less than an hour away. Jack Daniel's factory is about an hour or so too and they have daily tours.
Nashville and Louisville are both reasonably close, plus plenty of smaller local attractions.
I am not sure the factory is open but normally you could. Lots of local attractions and as others have said Nashville and Louisville is not far.
Jim beam brewery is near by, with tours available. And a train museum. Nashville isnt too far either.
The bourbon trail is around there. Plenty of distilleries not too far. Lincoln's house. Zip lining. Quite a bit.
Factory is closed right now. Lots to do in the area, Shaker village, caves, Patton museum, distillery tours, scenic drives.
I was surprised by the quality of the restaurants in Bowling Green. There may be other places you decide to go to and check out, but don't be afraid to linger for a meal or two in Bowling Green!
Holiday Inn Express exit 22 near by. Nice new good parking and lots if places to eat.
Major cities near by are Louisville, Lexington, and Nashville. All have plenty of things to do. If you don't want to make the extra hour drives or so, Mammoth Caves is fairly close and a once in a lifetime experience, I would definitely throw that in your trip.
I believe you can visit the factory, When I first moved to Bowling Green Ky, there was no museum, they did let you go to the factory.

We visited the Corvette Museum last fall on our way to the Ark Encounter, the Creation Museum and the Air Force Museum, as well as Columbia Falls. Then headed down to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge.
