The Ohio Historical Society in Columbus has all of their records. You can even get a copy of the person's mugshot.
They have an historical person on site that might help you and some/one volunteer was a former inmate. Super friendly staff and extremely full of information!
They have a great staff. Call or go in person, I bet they would enjoy helping you.
Contact the reformatory and ask them how to go about that.
