I'm sorry, I can't answer your question. I'm a client, not a member of the staff.

I'm sorry to hear. Have been my vet for years. Sounds like a simple infection. I would do anything possible, besides put down. Plus they will not just put your dog down if it is a treatable condition. They would not put my dog down, when it was NEEDED due too me being 6mo pregnant at the time. Being a client for so long, I don't they they had the heart to. Let up above pay or put up for adoption. What kind of dog?

It depends If you get the shot that makes them drift to sleep and out of pain first before fatal injection shot.. both go by weight.. in other words it costs much more to put down a saint bernard than a yorkie.. Before you put her down because you cant afford the meds- Look online- A lot of the time you can order PET MEDICATION for cheaper than you can buy from a vet. OR theres a credit card called care credit - that you can use to pay for pet expenses and pay off over time (no interest if you do pay off in a certain agreed amount of time). Also there are funding organizations set up to help with sick dogs who's owners dont have the means to take care of them due to financial hardships or various other reasons. OR you can set up a GoFundMe account where people can make donations to help you reach a goal to be able to buy them meds. OR I'd absolutely reach out to the SPCA.. they may be able to help with discounted meds. Or at least help put her down in the most humane way.
