During the months leading up to the tax filing deadline, all Library System locations have Federal 1040 and 1040-SR tax forms and accompanying instruction booklets on hand for free distribution to the public. Additionally, the United Way’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program provides free income tax assistance to individuals and families with a household income of $60,000 or less. Their IRS-trained and certified volunteers serve at 2 Library System locations to help participants receive all eligible tax credits and deductions. For this service, appointments are required.
