I would suggest you look at a good used camera. You can find online in Facebook local stuff for sale, ebay, or even Amazon. Also look online at Frye's Electronics you can find a better deal. But yes you can get a fair camera for $300 at Walmart

For less than that you can get a good used starter camera on facebook marketplace. But yes, they have good cameras at Walmart, I would recommend you order it online though and pick it up at the store. That way you can do your information search as you see the different options.
