I have a MacBook Pro and an external CD player (Mac). I have several Dover CD-Roms and books and would like to access the contents. I cannot get my computer to recognize the CDs. I have figured out how to eject the discs.

Wife is the mac person but in the PC world your CD driver(the piece of software that is part of the operating system) is most likely corrupt. Should be just a matter of reinstalling driver software.
