I purchased my ebike from Propel bikes. The owner's knowledge, unbiased suggestions and service are excellent. I truly love my bike. But I was looking for a higher-end full suspension ebike that would be extremely low maintenance, higher speed, high durability and very comfortable both on and off road. You need to decide which of these qualities you want and then confirm at a demo day to make an informed decision. You will love your ebike, too!
There are many places you can get inexpensive bikes, our prices generally start at $2,000 as this bike still retains the quality we feel comfortable standing behind. There are less expensive bikes out there, but they usually cut corners in one way or another. Based on this we can’t in good conscience recommend a specific brand or shop for cheap bikes. I would recommend checking out Google for other ebike shops in NY and look at the reviews or perhaps look at electricbikereview.com my friend Court runs that site and he does reviews of bikes at all price points. They also have a forum so you can hear from other users of their experience.
