The State of Georgia requires that a person be at least 17 years of age, complete 1500 hours of training at a state approved facility or apprenticeship (3000 hours), be in possession of a high school diploma or its equivalency, and apply for licensure through the State's regulatory agency to become a licensed Cosmetologist.
