Red Oak, as well as, every other residential sanitation hauler no longer recycles glass in many of the metro Atlanta counties. The recycling processing centers no longer accept glass, thus, are no longer recycle it. Please however, remove the lids on your glass containers and recycle them.
Not exactly.... While the recycling is still being collected with glass in it. It is recommended that the glass be placed in the trash. The recycle centers no longer accept glass for recycling from commercial collectors because the packers crush the glass and the colors become almost impossible to separate. That makes the glass of no value for recycling. Additionally, the centers have put out notice that they will no longer accept recycling with glass in it but have yet to enforce it.
