When I was married and I was in the system, we (my child included)was placed in like a studio that had a bathroom a kitchenette a stove and a refrigerator.
They normally keep a family unit together, but the children must attend school, if you have a disable child who need medical attention 24/7, then your given an appartment, but other wise what you get is a studio appartment where everyone chears living quarters. But leek in mind these are really City Shelters where you are monitored.
You get your own apartment, but being that you're married you share the same room. If you have a child, then it's different and you would get an extra room
