In the shelter system, once you are processed, your family size is documented and must remain the same throughout your stay otherwise you will risk losing your opportunities with them. Whatever you decide, please make mention of this to your case manager and weigh the options available to you. If you mention the living situation to a PATH agent before you are placed, please provide written documentation of the agreement reach between you and your child's father otherwise they will push you and both your children to that address as they always avoid any families subjecting themselves to the shelter system. God bless & Best of luck to you and your household.
