This Giant has gone down hill in the past year! They replaced half the staff with self check out(that always break down) and a robot to clean. Some of the few employees they do are really nice and others are rude and nasty! Id find another store if I were you.
I agree. They really have gone downhill. Finding an actual human - real life person, when you need one, is pathetic. No one there to help you or answer any questions. Where has all the humanity gone. Guess what - Acme by Granite Run. Little more $$, but quality is 10x BETTER
Not totally IMO. I was there this morning and they only had 2 female cashiers available. The rest were the old and new self check-out lanes. Staffing could be an issue. Or not busy enough to pay. Plus it's a non- union job.
As a Giant employee, I can tell you that there won't be any replacements for full service checkouts for a while. I can also say that the switch to self checkout has not cut any jobs, as some self check-outs can be turned into full service and need to be staffed. This is a thing called technology, and it sucks sometimes, and it's hard to get used to, but it's here to stay.
Even the self check out has to be manned by an employee because machines jam up, not all prices available to see, and they can get frustrating to say the least!
That's the way there all going. Pa turnpike all the bridges will go unmanned real soon.
