I work at the VA hospital and can personally say that they love them, especially the long term care patients that have been there for 6 months, a year, and some even longer!

Absolutly,, in fact it is encouraged. We have gone to the hospital and convalescent care and given out gifts as well as cards. You will be surprised at the reaction. ( and pleased as well)
