It is independent, but age restricted. The only service that appears to be age related is a bus / van service for those who do not drive. Like other condos they care for the grounds. But the best part is the clubs that get people of similar interests together! A neice of college age said LW is like a college campus: a pool, a gym, places to eat, to live! Help can be hired if needed.
