I am not able to answer your question because I am a non-smoker, and I am beginning my Westphal Orthopedics appointment, as a very good referral from Hershey Orthopedics and Spine Rehabilitation, Lancaster, Pennsylvania, having had some visits to Orthopedics Associates, and transferring to Westphal Orthopedics to actually have my hip replacement surgery.
This depends on a lot of different factors, Mr. Hayward. These factors would include any other underlying health conditions that you may have that may increase the likelihood of complications during surgery. To complicate things, some insurances are now requiring you to quit smoking prior to them approving a total hip replacement. If you'd like more information, feel free to give our office a call and we would be happy to help you!
