The airport bus (MTA 201) now takes credit cards in addition to cash, but the other buses don't. For the MTA 201 to BWI, 202 to Fort Meade, and 204 to FDA and College Park, you can pre-buy fares instantly using the CharmPass app on your phone, or order online at MTA.commuterdirect.com and get paper tickets by mail. The Ride-On and Metro buses take only cash or SmarTrip (same as DC metro) cards.
So helpful... these details are buried. I have an early AM flight next Fri. Seems I need to get to a 430a commuter-like bus [61] to get to Rockville Marc [201] for 7am BWI arrival... so, have cash and either card or pre purchase tix from 1-3 transit providers ?
