No, dogs cannot be reserved. If you want a dog at the shelter, you must make an adoption decision then and there.
I was able to have a dog briefly put on hold while I went home and brought in my present dog to test the comparability. There is a separate area where one could do this....to have two dogs brought together.
If you are wanting to adopt a dog, they will not hold but if you are the owner and your dog has been quarantined because it bit someone, they will hold your dog for a few days observation.
