It's a very unique place with wolves, bears, and lots of eagles, owles etc. We have visited twice and enjoyed it. There is also white face and all the lake placid area to explore while you are there.
Though somewhat on the smaller side, the refuge offers an array of beautiful animals to see and learn about, and the wilderness is beyond beautiful. The staff is wonderfully kind and generous. Little ones will appreciate the unique animals and the walk through the woods.
I have visited the area for the last 3 years. This place is the best thing for at least an hour's drive. The two four year olds and the six-year-old that were with me had a great time. The people are great and the animals are amazing
yes all my boys loved it age range 7 to 14 was fun the bears were awesome!
Yes absolutely! You can also enjoy Lake Placid public beach and playground about 15 minutes from the refuge. There's a cafe with trails and gold mining for young children along the way.
Yes. It is great place/opportunity to introduce our children to nature and nurture a passion for preservation.
This is a great family place, they have guides along the way and a great staff that are very knowledgeable and friendly. Most are orienrentate to children and explain the animals very well !!! It's a great place to visit if you 6 or 60. 3 thumbs up !!!
Yes. My nieces were 4 and 6 when i took them and they both had a blast.
