I need to get a RT-PCR based COVID19 test for my travel. In how many hours can I expect the results to be given? P.S - I'm looking for a lab test a.k.a RT-PCR test, not the Rapid test.

Hi Abhishek. Typically, PCR results have a turnaround time of 2-6 days. However, due to the high volume of tests being received by the labs, results may take a few additional days to return. Once they're available, they'll be posted to your patient portal.

If you are having the rapid test done you will know your results before you leave. If they are extremely busy You will receive a phone call within 30 minutes or so. The regular test has been taking about 48 -72 hours for results to come back. For some it's easier to log on to LabCorp.com, evidently that's who they use to do the testing and their results are posted. Stay safe and healthy.

Apparently the rapid test is only 40% accurate. It only took 24 hrs to get my test results for the regular test.
