I would like to know if there's any need to get an ID card of some sorts to get in the pool? A local "public" pool said I needed to get one for a $10 fee to get one to get in the pool.

No ID card needed they ask everyone to sign in with your name phone number and address but they do not check any documents and do not require any ID.
